BlueHDi Technology
This new family of engines, implementing cutting-edge technology, respects the new Euro 6 standard. Designed to destroy 90% of nitrogen oxides (NOx), they also reduce both fuel consumption and CO2. The technology used by DS is the most efficient on the market. The SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) module positioned upstream of the particulate filter turns pollutants into harmless water vapour and nitrogen. This new technology exists in four versions: BlueHDi 120 6-speed manual, BlueHDi 120 EAT6, BlueHDi 150 6-speed manual, Blue HDi 180 EAT6.
BlueHDi 180 S&S EAT6 Engine
The BlueHDi 180 sets high standards in performance, efficiency and driveability.
- With power of 180 bhp for torque of 400 Nm, response and acceleration are excellent at all revs.
- The efficiency of this engine is reflected in its fuel consumption and CO2 emission levels: 4.3l/100 km for 110g/km.

DS Wings Grille
The hexagonal DS Wings grille features a sculpted, graphic design that is truly unique. The chrome surround is extended by two wings of light inside the headlamps.
New Headlamps
New DS 5 features the new DS LED Vision light signature with headlamps combining LED and Xenon technologies with sequential indicators, unique on the market, and LED fog lamps with static cornering lighting. Designed to resemble stones in their setting, these headlamps are key features in the identity of the front end. Meeting high standards in lighting quality, they also — above all — illustrate the refinement and attention to detail of DS.
Tail End
The rear view further underlines the status of the New DS 5 with its wide tracks and twin tailpipe integrated with the rear bumper. The rear view is further enhanced by a signature comprising six light guides.
Cockpit
The interior of the New DS 5 was inspired by aerospace design. The most symbolic feature is the cockpit roof. With its three light wells, the roof creates a unique ambience tailored to individual requirements, by day and by night. The driving position was designed around the driver. The main controls are grouped on two central consoles, one low and one overhead, with buttons, dials and toggle switches.
Touch Screen
A touch screen for simplified ergonomic design. The new 7-inch touch screen offers easy access to all vehicle functions including; audio, navigation and telephone. The fascia and central console are streamlined and simplified, creating more storage space for greater convenience in everyday use.
Refinement
New DS 5 is available with three qualities of leather used as part of eight seating combinations: grained leather, full grain nappa leather and semi-aniline leather, the most luxurious type used in the automotive industry. Semi-aniline leather is made from Bavarian bulls raised in wide open areas without barbed wire fencing. Each type of leather is available in several colours.
Comfort
New DS 5 is a car unlike any other, with its premium materials and attention to sound quality:
Aluminium on the door cross bars and console trim and metal on the gear lever knob and interior door handles. A dashboard upholstered in supple foam that is pleasant to the touch and attention to soundproofing and noise absorption to ensure that sounds are soft and muted. Massaging seats with an electric memory further enhance the comfort of New DS 5.
Blind Spot Monitoring
A state-of-the-art safety feature for increased visibility. An LED lights up in one of the door mirrors to warn drivers of the presence of a car or motorcycle in their blind spot.
Lane Departure Warning System
The second-generation lane departure warning system (LDWS) in New DS 5 is more predictive. If the car crosses a lane marking while the indicators are off, the driver’s seat will vibrate.
Intelligent Traction Control
Combined with ESC, this function limits wheel spin to help the car start up on slippery surfaces while improving grip and traction on any type of road.
Static Intersection Lighting
When cornering at low speeds (up to 40 kph), fog lights with static cornering lighting project an extra beam of light towards the inside of the corner or junction.
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
The tyre pressure monitoring system functions continually during driving to detect any loss of pressure that could adversely impact the stability of the vehicle and the safety of the driver and passengers.
Keyless Entry and Start
The keyless entyr and start system on New DS 5 recognises the driver as he/she approaches the car. Placing a hand behind the handle opens the door. Pressing the START button starts the engine.
Smart Beam Function
With the miniature camera built into the windscreen, New DS 5 switches from high to low beam automatically, according to the light and driving conditions.
Head-Up Display
A technology that enhances visibility and comfort for greater safety. An innovative technology borrowed from fighter planes, designed to ensure clear vision in all circumstances, the Head-up Display is an appealing feature. It projects essential driving information in colour onto a transparent panel in the driver’s direct line of vision.
Reversing Camera
The reversing camera sends a colour picture to the new 7-inch touchscreen. The driver can then use the coloured guidelines to manœuvre safely.
